Thanksgiving is a day for sharing and appreciating. It is a day to spend with family, friends, loved ones, and let’s not forget, to overindulge in Thanksgiving dinner.
To keep in line with the theme of the holiday “sharing and appreciating” I wanted to share with you some ways that I have thought about using Cinch to celebrate and share with my family and friends over these next few days.
Imagine your great Aunt Fern travels in from Boise and you have not seen her since you used to get your cheeks pinched as a child with the rest of the nieces and nephews. There she is after many years, pinching the cheeks of your very own little ones. Using Cinch you can record the oh so memorable voice of Aunt Fern and include commentary on your childhood memories to share with loved ones (maybe the other victims of the cheek pinching) who maybe couldn’t make it. You can also archive memories for the future. One year my Uncle missed the festivities due to traveling; it would have been wonderful to record messages to him from the family, along with pictures, so he could share in our day.
Sharing recipes is another favorite of mine. We all have coveted family recipes that everyone wants— someone at the office, your cousin who never could get your sweet potato recipe right, or even your blog readers. Cinch makes it easy to share your cooking tips and recipes in audio format. Audio allows you to tell people “how” you make something as well as the ingredients. My dad makes these incredible biscuits that I have never been able to replicate even though I had the recipe. Once he told me how, rather than reading a recipe, it was clear to me that you do lose a lot just reading text, the subtlety of stirring the dough or what “a dash” really means. When you are done you can take a picture of your masterpiece to provide a visual of the finished product to accompany the recipe and tips.
So as Thanksgiving is meant to be for sharing and giving thanks we hope that Cinch will help you share and show appreciation for the important people in your life.
